Project description
Project New Forms in Mixdoor practices focused on performing arts combines intercultural initiatives, collaboration among artistic disciplines, artists and european countries.
Four core elements of the project are: juggling and contemporary circus arts, vertical dance, 3D mapping and mobile encounters based on GPS within the cultural sectors.
The project consists of a performative structure made up of three stages: an outside performing location, and one indoors, connected by a sequence of small-scale site-specific activities leading to the indoor stage of a theatre. The project explores ways of communication within a complex series of activities in innovative practice and connecting artists interested in these forms across Europe into a new platform thus expanding audiences for these new forms.
Project objective
The objective of the project is to develop new forms of expression in contemporary performng arts sector, connecting people from around the world whose practice is rooted in diverse artistic practices and connecting them through new collaborations.
Gained experience
The project allowed Croatian based artists to gain access to elements of the use of GPS systems and 3Dmapping technologies in artistic production specifically creation of visual effects in performing arts. The project allowed us to contextualize a small but expanding group of Croatian artists who work in contemporary new circus and in vertical dance, and to offer them opportunities for cultural exchange and professional development in the use of new techniques and new technologies. The project also contributed to growing interest among the audiences for this type of new interdcisplinary and intercultural artistic practices.
