Re-Imagine Europe: New Perspectives for Action
Project description
New Perspectives for Action is a four-year transnational co-creation and circulation project by thirteen interdisciplinary art organisations across Europe. It builds on the results of the successful Re-Imagine Europe project (2017–2021). New Perspectives for Action aims to equip and empower young Europeans through artistic practices to better withstand societal challenges triggered by rapid climate change. To achieve this aim, the project responds to the needs of artists, organisations and audiences. New Perspectives for Action invests in space, time and resources for artists to enhance the transformative potential of experimental and digital art. An innovative program of artistic experimentation, including artist residencies, training and workshops, strengthens the skills of artists, and leads to the development of prototypes, new artworks, and new technological tools.
The project responds to the lack of opportunities and resources for co-creation and circulation among cultural organisations by developing a resilient transnational partnership for co-creation and circulation. New artworks are co-produced and circulated within the partnership and beyond through establishing collaborative co-creation mechanisms and a circulation infrastructure. The project equips organisations by pooling resources and bringing together a diversity of knowledge and skills.
The project wants to increase the agency of young Europeans because many of them feel powerless in the face of climate change. Audience activation strategies are developed through pilots, workshops and meetups activate young audiences, and symposia build new cross-sectoral connections between different communities across Europe. New narratives and imaginaries are shared via publications, releases and the hybrid dissemination platform. By equipping and empowering young Europeans through art, New Perspectives for Action will contribute to a more social, ecological and resilient Europe.
