Project description

Dancing Together, Again! Creative Residencies Programme is a call for artists, curators/producers and researchers to collaborate in developing new practices for the dissemination of dance in local communities. The project focuses on audience development and social inclusion. The project aims to create new frameworks and networks for the sharing and exchange of ideas, methods and visions between European countries and beyond, to increase awareness and competitiveness in the field of dance research and production, and to bridge the gaps between dance professionals and local communities. The proposed structure introduces a slow-paced approach to dance production and research and aims to create models that provide sufficient time to relate, practice, immerse oneself in the process, deeply understand and analyse.

To accomplish this, a series of biannual 3-week creative residencies will be organized in Italy, Croatia and Georgia, bringing together an artist, a curator/producer and a researcher from each of the 4 participating countries and inviting them to work collaboratively across disciplines and with local communities – those socially vulnerable and better-off, as well as different ethnic and religious groups, citizens and immigrants, young and old, people with special needs and people with limited access to cultural content. The works of all 36 participants (performances, papers, videos, etc.) will be presented at the end of the 30-month project within the framework of a 10-day festival in Poland. The whole project will be documented through videos, an online blog and social media.

All participants of the residencies will be selected through an international call, CV, and a letter of motivation regardless of gender, age, cultural background, education or special needs. They will be given a framework: theme, workspace, accommodation, scholarships and contacts with local communities, and asked to fill this framework with creative ideas.
