Project description

LLB is a multi-annual cooperation project supported by the EU Creative Europe Program and implemented by twelve organizations active in the field og contemporary dance. With its 6 activities (program lines), the project offers sustainable support for emerging as well as mid-career contemporary dance artists, aims to stimulate exchange with other disciplines and expand its sphere of activity and audience through a strong feedback attitude: CREATIVE CROSSROADS: two-year funding program, whose offers (residencies, workshops, production cost subsidy, dramaturgy / technical assistance, etc.) are tailored to the needs of the 21 participating artists / groups DANCE HUB: workshops, residencies, production support for aspiring dance artists, dance administrators and dance writers DANCEWEB SCHOLARSHIPS: five-week scholarship program for contemporary dance and performance SUSY SUPPORT SYSTEM: Training program for dance administrators CHOREOGRAPHIC CONVENTION: platforms that address current topics in contemporary dance PERFORMANCE SITUATION ROOM: Format-open, artistic gatherings whose contents are aimed at daily and socio-political topics.

The main objective of the project is to connect diverse organizations in a strong network that can provide sustainable eco-system for emerging as well as mid-career contemporary dance artists, nurturing the context for expanded thinking of dance and its impact in the society. The program actively re-thinks the role of the audiences, implementing various discursive as well as presentational formats. Kik Melone stands as the representative of a partnership project Antisezona from Croatia and associated partners from the NDA regional Balkan network. Through this project, our organization developed skills in curating international programs, producing and organizing programs in international partnership, as well as to relate to and to think about our specific context learning from the close experience with contexts of other European regions. Having in mind that in this region the possibilities for dance artists are scarce, and that COVID pandemics seriously damaged mobility of artists and audience habits, the impact of this project, especially in terms of capacity building, residencies and artistic exchange is very visible.
