Rewilding Cultures
Project description
Rewilding Cultures includes partners from eight EU countries in their common interests towards research in art, science and technology and in building the capacity of creative communities, through the international mobility of artists, researchers and technologists. The project forms a network of international innovative events of a hybrid format (27) for research and co-creation in the field of art, technology and communities. What these events have in common is their deliberate setting in remote environments, far from the usual urban environment of contemporary creative hubs, which allows them to focus on process-based activities such as peer learning, fieldwork, research and co-creation, rather than the presentation of ready-made works. Activities within the project are expanded and connected by strong dissemination mechanisms through a series of publications (2 books), an international conference (1) that presents both practice and theory, and a media strategy with a dedicated media partner (over 100 articles). The residential programs (33) form another important backbone of the project and offer development as well as social and research work.
These content pillars are permeated by mechanisms for continuous innovation and future-proofing of our formats: on the one hand, we are focused on the development of a more ecologically sustainable future, and on the other, on the development of measures (4 priorities) for better inclusivity and accessibility of our events. These values are further extended through the public call for Green and Inclusive Mobility (min. 24 grants), which help to connect similar hybrid event formats outside our consortium. Art and technology communities and audiences from 9 partner countries will directly benefit from the project (4000 active participants in 4 years), external stakeholders such as researchers, academia, practitioners and other target groups will be reached through media coverage, online documentation and social media.
