Project description

Living Heritage Journeys researches and develops innovative methods for the sustainable inclusion of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in cultural tourism experiences. Based on the cooperation of various partners, including museums, non-governmental organisations and a University from five European countries (Belgium, Poland, Italy, Sweden and Croatia), the project will empower different target groups and audiences (bearers of intangible cultural heritage, heritage workers, tourism experts and others). for the development of tourist experiences that preserve living heritage and encourage a deeper respect for cultural heritage in general. The ultimate goal of this four-year project is to translate all the knowledge gained from intersectional and multidisciplinary research into guidelines and training materials, thereby enabling the sustainable exploitation of cultural, social and economic benefits from sustainable tourism for smaller entities and bearers of skills and knowledge.
