Imagine Peace

Project description

ENG/ The Imagine Peace project is an international initiative co-funded by the European Union, aimed at promoting art, peace, and dialogue through innovative cultural practices, with a particular focus on light installations. As one of the project partners, the Visualia Festival plays an active role by presenting artistic works and installations to audiences in Pula, while fostering collaboration with other European cities and festivals and enhancing the international visibility of the local cultural scene.

The project spans a total of two and a half years, during which the Visualia Festival will be held in two editions (2025 and 2026). This framework encourages the exchange of knowledge and experiences among artists, as well as the active involvement of the local community in contemporary cultural practices. A strong emphasis is placed on artist mobility and the circulation of artworks across Europe.

Within the project, two works from local production are featured, including “Stairs between Wars” by artist Petar Šćulac. In addition to its presentation at the Visualia Festival, the work will be showcased at festivals in Denmark, Norway, Italy, and Germany, further strengthening international cultural exchange.

A particularly notable element of the project is the installation “Pallets,” developed by the Studio Visualia collective. Conceived as a zero-waste installation, it requires minimal resources and logistics. Through workshops held in partner countries, it engages both younger and older generations in discussions about peace. Messages of peace, written in five European languages, will travel across five countries, symbolically connecting communities and highlighting the importance of unity and dialogue.
