PROJECT HOPE

Project description

Planet Hope – New European Fiction (PH) is a literary translation project focused on the transnational promotion and circulation of quality European fiction, particularly from lesser-represented languages. The project addresses three different target groups—children, youth, and adults—and features two translations from Ukrainian into Macedonian. One of the books will be printed in Ukrainian and made available to Ukrainian refugee children in North Macedonia, supporting and encouraging the preservation of their cultural identity.

Planet Hope focuses on relevant social issues and challenges facing our planet, especially those concerning future generations. Through 16 translated books, the project tackles crucial topics such as human rights, gender equality, feminism, freedom, environmental awareness, inclusion, and acceptance of differences. These books are divided by age group and target audience: children, youth, and adults. Tailored promotional activities and campaigns will use specific language and imagery to effectively engage each audience.

Our main goals are:

  • For youth: to contribute to the creation of socially and environmentally aware young people who recognize their role in society and are capable of making a difference as adults.
  • For adults: to promote books that bravely address important themes, reflecting on the past and teaching us how we can improve the present—how to heal social wounds, overcome differences, and work together for a better future for all.

The project involves five partners and represents an important step in fostering cultural exchange, empowering communities, and shaping a society that values solidarity, equality, and sustainability.
