Project description

CircusNext PLaTFoRM is devoted to the development and promotion of a contemporary circus in Europe that is being realized through a program of support for emerging circus authors from Europe.

CircusNext PlaTFoRM support consists of financial support for the production of performances (for project laureates), residency support, work-in-progress presentations, mentoring and administrative support in producing performances and increasing the visibility of young and inexperienced companies vis-à-vis European professionals, to ensure their further development.

The CircusNext PLaTFoRM project is funded by Creative Europe funds, through a platform sub-program. The project is co-ordinated by the Parisian organization Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe, and the project involves 18 organizations from 12 European countries.

Project objective

- Identify and promote performing artists in the field of contemporary circus, that are selected according to the criteria of excellence and uniqueness

- Internationalization of the professional skills of selected artists-allowing them to play overseas, develop their network, cooperate with various professionals during the creative process

- Raise awareness of public and cultural policy representatives regarding the existence of diverse directions in Europe and discontinue the circus-related cliffs that still exist, promoting the meaning of authorship.

Gained experience

Through the implementation of the CircusNext Platform, we have upgraded the capability to implement art residences, communication with artists, partners, audiences and administrative skills related to the implementation of EU projects throughout the current implementation. All residences, presentations of emerging works, platform meetings create new experiences.
