Project description
European Media Art Platform (EMAP) is the largest international platform for residencies of emerging media artists. It has developed from European Media Artists in Residence Exchange (EMARE) initiated in 1995 by the lead partner. The network now connects 11 European cultural institutions and organizations; these partners annually give production grants to top quality emerging European media artists, investing at the same time in research, capacity development, and presentation and distribution of media art in Europe.
Project objective
The main goal of the project is to foster high quality production of artworks by European artists, facilitate project collaborations and develop partnership between European organizations dealing with media art.
Gained experience
As a part of the EMAP network, we have intensified and developed our activities in the field of production of complex artworks by media artists. We are also investing in research, building up visibility for media artists in Europe and creating presentation and distribution opportunities for emerging media artists. Collaboration with partners is intense and dynamic, and knowledg and experience exchange is productive and continuous.
