Project description

Sustainable EEEmerging supports the transition of the Early Music sector to a more sustainable ecosystem through hybrid and blended learning programmes targeting different groups: young talents; professionals from music institutions; Early Music musicians, students and major stakeholders.

The main objectives of the project are to:
1) support Early Music artists’ emerging careers through entrepreneurship skills and sustainability competences, as well as working opportunities to guarantee their progression and sustainability locally and internationally;
2) empower Early Music partners to develop their activities in a sustainable way;
3) contribute to the sustainability of the sector through experimentation with and dissemination of new working practices and projects at the local and transnational levels;
4) broaden and reinforce a European community in Early Music that is sustainable, dynamic and that networks with a plurality of artists, audiences and local stakeholders.

The following main activities are planned to achieve these objectives:
- research on the needs of target groups and progress reports on sustainable practices among partners; (10 case studies); 1 evaluation;
- a learning programme for 20 ensembles (100 musicians) implemented through residencies;
- a learning programme for the sustainability of music venues from more than 11 countries;
- a sustainability roadmap for each of the 11 partners to develop more sustainable practices;
- ten artistic laboratories to experiment with sustainable artistic projects;
- two academies to train young musicians in orchestral setting and develop the community;
- local and transnational hubs, involving more than 60 organisations to achieve over 20 sustainable tours;
- a community of artists via on-line and on-site events and meetings;
- one final publication to disseminate replicable results.

These activities will contribute to a system that sustains an inclusive, healthy and enduring Early Music sector across Europe.
