STAGES - Sustainable Theatres Alliance for Green Environmental Shift
Project description
CNT Zagreb is part of the large European project STAGES (Sustainable Theater Alliance for a Green Environmental Shift) an ambitious theater experiment that examines the way the cultural sector works with the concept of sustainability. 14 influential theater organizations, including a leading European theater network (European Theater Convention), a theater partner from Asia and partners from the academic community, have teamed up with director Katie Mitchell and choreographer Jérôme Bel – two artists known for incorporating sustainability into their work – to test radical solutions to the biggest challenges brought by the climate crisis. As part of the project, a series of projects will be realized, such as the re-staging of Jérôme Bela's plays, a series of workshops, forums, collaborations with local artists and scientists. The first phase of the project has already been completed and it included the production of Plays for the Living in the Age of Extinction, directed by Anica Tomić.
