Contemporary Resilience: Reinventing Dance in Ukraine
Project description
dancEUA – Contemporary Resilience: Reinventing Dance in Ukraine is a three-year European cooperation project aimed at strengthening and revitalising the Ukrainian contemporary dance scene in response to current social and cultural challenges. The project brings together organisations from Croatia, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania and Sweden, fostering long-term international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the development of new artistic practices. Through a range of activities—including artistic residencies, educational programmes, production of new dance works, and international touring—dancEUA provides a platform for the professional development of young dancers, choreographers, and cultural managers. A strong emphasis is placed on non-formal learning, artist mobility, and the creation of sustainable networks within the European dance sector. The project also contributes to increasing the visibility of Ukrainian contemporary dance across Europe, while encouraging dialogue between diverse cultural contexts and reinforcing the role of the arts in fostering resilience.
